Alert plate

Alert plate

Description

Podotactile pavement is currently the best solution to facilitate access to transport, buildings and other public places to people with vision problems

The alert plate is a strip of buttons in relief, placed in parallel a few centimeters before any danger, alerting the walker to the hazard.  It is made for use on platform edges, stairs, elevator zones, etc. It also allows you to indicate a change of direction in a road.  It can be used for both indoor and outdoor application

The alert plate is an internationally adopted symbol and is an understandable instinct.  People with visual disabilities immediately feel the raised points that makes up the symbol under their feet. This gets their attention and alerts them to a hazard

The range of podotactile pavements complies with the UNE 23727-90 and NF F-16101 fire resistance standards, in addition to other European regulations such as EN 13501-1, satisfying the strictest European directives regarding fire safety of materials installed in public places

SUMIGRAN's tactile pavement

  • Rubber without halogen content
  • It is self-extinguishing ( M2, in accordance with French standard and Bfl-s1, according to European standard )
  • It has low smoke emission and is also low toxicity ( F1 )
  • Scratch resistant
  • In case of combustion, emits fumes with low opacity ( S1 )
  • Dimensional and color stability

The color of the alert plate depends on the applicable standard.  It must guarantee a high contrast with the floor with which it is installed

To define the most appropriate designs, we study the force regulations in each country, and seek advice from local experts in the field.  Thus, our podotactile pavement has the recommendation from the ONCE Foundation in Spain and the approval of the RNIB ( Royal National Institute for the Blind ) in Great Britain. It has been installed in environments that lead the standardization of universal accessibility such as the metros of Madrid, Paris, and London

It is easy to assemble, installs fast and without construction.  It adheres and seals on the existing lining, which avoids the inconvenience of lifting and replacing materials, and drastically reduces work times and therefore labor costs

This saving of time and cost is caused in part by the length of the plates themselves, which can be up to 2,500 mm, which reduces installation time and simplifies the laborious alignment task

You can walk on the pavement a few hours after installation.  This allows the space to be open to the public without affecting users if the work is completed during the night closing hours.

The entire range of podotactile pavement is made in manageable formats that facilitate its transport and transfer to its destination

The tactile pavement is applicable in:

Indicators of changes of elevation, routes of movement between the most relevant elements of a public place, signage of stairs, ramps, elevators, doors, counters, wagons, emergency exits, etc.
